National Monument to the Forefathers

Formerly known as the Pilgrim Monument, National Monument to the Forefathers is thought to be the world's largest freestanding solid-granite monument. It took 30 years to build and represents the religious values of the Pilgrims who landed at Plymouth in 1620.

Located inland compared to the other popular attractions of Plymouth, National Monument to the Forefathers is worth a visit. This gigantic granite structure lauds a Victorian-era interpretation of the pursuits that motivated the Pilgrims to leave England and start their own colony.
